Peninsula Arts Center

Fred, Julie and I played at the Peninsula Arts Center yesterday.  It was the first time our little trio has played in front of a live audience and it was a lot of fun even though the rain tried its hardest to dampen the party.  Harmonizing to a Crosby, Stills and Nash song is absolutely the best.  Southern Man!

This Wednesday we are doing a live Acoustic set on one of the docks in Ilwalco for the Astoria Yacht Club.  I can't wait to see the sailboats coming into the harbor for this gathering!

This coming Friday we are at the North Beach Tavern.  This is a great venue out in the beer garden so come on down and enjoy some great music, friends exquisite dining and libations!

Amazon Music

Our new album is on most streaming services like Amazon Music.  If you haven't heard it yet give it a go and if you like it please share with your friends.  Fred and I are really proud of this album.  As a matter of fact we liked it so much we've begun to work on another.  And be sure to catch Fred going solo at the North Beach Tavern this Friday.  The other half of toasted is down south working on his tan.

Just in case you haven't heard yet we have gone live with the Toasted Album.  It is now available on most of the streaming services.  As Covid hit Toasted was unable to play at any live venues so we decided to record an album.  Check it out on ITunes!  Fred will be playing at the North Beach Tavern this coming Friday so be sure to join your friends for an evening of great music, suds and dining.  Bryan (the other half of Toasted is on a road trip across the country returning the first of May.

Good Thursday morning and I hope everyone is in the groove!  Speaking of in the groove, tune into KSOW 91.3 or STREAM the midday show today at noon.  Our album Toasted will be streaming on most platforms beginning on the 28th of this month.

It's been a long time as we wait for the live music venues to open up again.  The live entertainment venues were the first to close and will be the last to open.  If you get a chance, get on out there and support these businesses that have been so horribly impacted.   See you soon!

Here's another one off of our new Album.  Seeing Red.  If you have a couple of minutes have a listen.  It's all about a person who will remain un-named and no longer in the life of this Half Toasted guy.  Bryan wrote this one when he was living in the Keys.  Bryan also thought it might be a good idea to sing really low baby! If you like what you hear think about buying the album.  Please contact Bryan through email. bryanfos@icloud.com

I Tried

Here's another one from our new album Toasted.  I Tried is a fast paced get down bluesy shuffle.  Working in the studio playing it again and again with Fred was and remains a blast.  It doesn't get any better than this! Remember Live Music is Best!!!

For Polly

Today's song of the day is For Polly.  Shortly after Polly had passed Jan Bono who is a great published author sent me some lyrics she had penciled.  I was experimenting with dropped D tuning on the guitar and I put music to the lovely lyrics Jan had written.  Thank you so much Jan!

I just had to do it!  I added Don't Set Your Drag To Tight to the song of the day list.  This song was written by a guy that was in our band Four Sheets to the Wind and I put it to music.  It's a great fun song but as things go life got in the way and we are no longer good friends.  Things happen so always remember be kind to those around you and if something is not yours, no matter how much you want it, let it be.

Of course LIVE MUSIC IS BEST!!

And The Moon Shines On

What to do on a rainy day here out on the beautiful Long Beach Peninsula.  I think I'll blog just a little bit and give everyone another taste of Toasted.  Today I'm uploading, And The Moon Shines On to the Toasted Blog.  If you like it tell all your friends, relatives, close associations ( whatever that means), enemies, lovers and X lovers.  The song was written by Fred Carter and Chuck Whittey.  I remember Fred asking Chuck for some help with the lyrics as Chuck is truly a word smith.  Also at the time I had been studying piano with Barbara Poulshock and so a little Bach was written into the song.  And The Moon Shines on is an environmental song about the loss of our oceans to the millions of tons of garbage that is  dumped in it everyday.  We must stop this and stop it now.  I have dived on reefs in Florida, Jamaica and Mexico and most of these beautiful reefs are turning into devastated bleached out desserts.  We need to be more aware of what's happening in our oceans.

I hope you enjoy And The Moon Shines On and remember the album Toasted can be purchased at the Peninsula Senior Center, the Bold art gallery and Adelaides in Ocean Park.  If you aren't anywhere near the peninsula please email me bryanfos@icloud.com and I will mail you a copy for 15.00.

Have a great Sunday!

Light at the end of the tunnel

There is light at the end of the tunnel!  Fred and I were both vaccinated and will get our second in a couple weeks!  Getting closer and closer to playing live music.  And guess what!  On the news this morning it was said Pacific County will be able to move into phase 2 of opening.  This means indoor dining is on it's way back.  This has only happened because of all the great people in Pacific County dawning face masks, social distancing and washing hands.  My neighbors are the greatest!

More big news!  Fred and I will be interviewed on KMUN today at 3:30 this afternoon.  If you haven't heard our new album yet, today is the day to listen to a few tracks on the radio!  Be sure to tune into KMUN 91.9 or demand your smart speaker to play KMUN.  If you like what you hear why not buy the album for your listening pleasure or buy one for a friend.  The CD's can be purchased at the Peninsula Senior Center or contact Toasted, bryanfos@icloud.com or fill out the contact form on this page.

Remember it will not be very long until we are all out having a good time with friends, dining, dancing, enjoying a drink or two and live music.  Keep up the good work of protecting yourself and others from Covid and we will see y'all soon!
